0.71ct Old Mine/Old European Diamond
This is a genuine Antique Diamond and would have been cut over 100 years ago. The facets are beautifully polished, which means it had time and a skilful hand, probably before electricity was used. It's in beautiful condition with no damage. It does have one inclusion, a small feather which is hard to see compared to black carbon. Inclusions are more common in antique diamonds as they mined far fewer diamonds and didn't have the knowledge to cut through diamonds. Generally these days, computer systems look into rough diamonds and decide how to best cut around these inclusions because they are considered undesirable. However, in Old Mine diamonds they are part of the charm. This diamond is very round which suggests it was cut around 1910-1920
GIA certified as a G colour, SI2 clarity and is laser inscribed. G colour is know an rare white, and doesn't suffer from the brown or yellow hues of lower colour grades.
