6.07ct Australian Green sapphire - Oval
A huge green oval sapphire, hand fossiked in the 1970's and cut in Australia on the sapphire fields in Queensland. We are classing this as a green sapphire, although some may call it a parti sapphire as it does have one small area of blue. This sapphire has quite a few inclusions, all quite different from each other. Just like any other part of nature, gemstones often have imperfections, but it is these imperfections that can give character and uniqueness. Each little inclusion tells a story about its creation and in the case of this big beauty they help prove its never been artificially treated in any way. This sapphire is quite thin, so for its weight it visually looks very large and can be set quite low which will make it very comfortable for everyday wear.
Sapphires are the second hardest natural gemstone after diamond. Hardness is very important if the piece is to be warn daily, as in the case with an engagement ring. Sapphires are one of the few gemstones suitable for this purpose and Australian sapphires are some of the worlds best. If this sapphire is not exactly what you are after or if you have other requests please contact us as we have a vast collection and a wonderful group of miners who toil day in day our looking for more of these enchanting and enduring crystals.

If you choose to take the piece loose or view it in your own home before returning for manufacturing it will come beautifully packaged in a sustainably grown timber gem box. Some of our customers have actually proposed this way, with the loose gem in our nice box. Then both partners can be involved in the design and manufacturing of the piece.
